TOM wines represent the pinnacle of our winemaking at Church Road.
Produced only in outstanding vintages, wines carrying the TOM label are made using winemaking equipment especially imported from France. The culmination of a number of carefully-selected components, including selection of the very best terroir, these stunning releases represent more than 15 years evolution of winemaking and working with the technical assistance of our French partners at Domaines Cordier.
Like all quality wines, TOM vintage releases will continue to evolve as winemaking styles are enhanced with each successive vintage. Our aim, however, remains constant - to create superb wines, no holds barred.
Featuring a Chardonnay and a Merlot Cabernet, this range bears the name of, and is inpsired by the legendary Tom McDonald, who in the 1940s to 1960s laid the groundwork for New Zealand wine of the highest quality at the Church Road Winery.
Commenting on the newest release, TOM Chardonnay 2006, winemaker Chris Scott noted; "...Church Road TOM Chardonnay 2006 is without doubt the finest Chardonnay we’ve ever made at the Church Road Winery”.
